SR1 C.O.O.L.™ Zone 5K

The SR1 C.O.O.L.™ Zone 5K is more than just a race—it’s an annual community celebration of education, health, and empowerment. Held at Gaddis Park in Forest, Mississippi (Scott County), this event brings together students, families, educators, and community leaders for a fun and interactive day of lifelong learning and healthy living — cornerstones of the C.O.O.L.™ Zone mission.

Race Categories and Medals

🏃 5K Runners and Walkers (with medals)

Participants will compete in the following age divisions:

  • Ages 8–10

  • Ages 11–13

  • Ages 14–17

  • Ages 18–29

  • Ages 30–49

  • Ages 50–59

  • Ages 60+


Medals will be awarded to the
top 3 male & female finishers in
each age category.

🚶 2.5K Walkers (non-competitive, community health focus)

Ideal for:

  • Older adults

  • Families with young children

 

Walkers are welcome to participate in the Give Back fundraiser, but no competitive timing or trophies will be awarded in this category.

🏃 Ages 5–7 Fun Run

Begins at 10:30AM

Line Dancing

From 11AM - 12PM

👶 Baby Crawl Contest • BEGINS AT 10:45AM

​A crowd favorite for our youngest participants! Babies under the age of 12 months can participate in a fun crawl race.

Gifts will be awarded to the fastest crawler!

RUN, WALK & DISCOVER

Participants of all ages will walk, jog, or run a 5K or 2.5K route.
Enjoy discovery stations including:

  • STEM Learning Stations: Hands-on science and tech activities for kids and families

  • Health & Nutrition Booths: Quick wellness tips, tastings, and fitness demonstrations

  • Literacy Pop-Ups: Storytimes, reading corners, and free book giveaways

  • Cultural Corner: Mini-lessons on language, heritage, and global traditions of the community

  • Community Resource Stops: Learn about valuable local services and programs

Give Back While You Dash!

Support your favorite organization just by participating:

  • Each 5K participant earns $5 toward the officially approved Scott County organization of their choice

  • Each 2.5K participant earns $2.50 for their selected approved Scott County organization

 

Note: You do not need to be from Scott County to participate or support a Scott County organization.

Participation Requirements

To qualify for fundraising support:

  • Organizations must register with a minimum of 10 participants by Thursday, May 22, 2026 via online through the QR code below or calling 601.206.4544 ext. 214

 

Eligible organizations include:

  • Churches

  • School Districts

  • Non-Profit Organizations

To register your group of 10 or more and ensure your organization is approved to receive funds, call 601.206.4544 ext. 214 and ask for Dominique Triplett.
