SR1 C.O.O.L.™ Zone Student Featured on 16 WAPT News for Early Graduation and College Enrollment

Ridgeland, MS – August 28, 2025 – SR1 proudly celebrates the outstanding achievement of Quinton Simpson, a 16-year-old student in the SR1 Community Oriented Opportunities for Learning (C.O.O.L.)™ Zone program, who was recently featured on 16 WAPT News for his remarkable academic success.
At just 16 years old, Quinton has graduated from Acellus Academy High School ahead of schedule. He is now pursuing his higher education at Hinds Community College, where he is majoring in Electro-Mechanical Engineering.
Simpson is a member of several SR1 inItiatives:

SR1 C.O.O.L.™ Zone Education Project
SR1 C.O.O.L.™ College Preparatory & STEM Summer Enrichment Camp

Simpson has received an award for his participation on the elite Robotics team. In 2024, Team SCARLETT was awarded the Connect and Innovate Awards at the FIRST® Tech Challenge competition.
The SR1 C.O.O.L.™ Zone program continues to inspire and equip students to succeed academically and beyond, fostering a community where hard work, determination, and excellence are celebrated.
