SR1 C.O.O.L.™ Zone 5K: Scott County Community Empowerment Run, Walk, and Discover
SR1 will host the SR1 C.O.O.L.™ Zone 5K: Scott County Community Empowerment Run, Walk, and Discover on Saturday, May 31st from 8:30am-11:30am. The 5K event is more than a race—it’s a vibrant celebration of growth, wellness, and education. This community-wide event brings together students, families, educators, and leaders to promote lifelong learning, health equity, and community strength—core pillars of the SR1 C.O.O.L.™ Zone mission.
Participants of all ages will walk, jog, or run through an engaging 5K route filled with
interactive discovery stations, including:
• STEM Learning Stations: Hands-on science and tech activities for kids and families
• Health & Nutrition Booths: Quick wellness tips, tastings, and fitness demonstrations
• Literacy Pop-Ups: Storytime and reading corners
• Cultural Corner: Mini-lessons on language, heritage, and global traditions
• Community Resource Stops: Learn about valuable local services and programs
Give Back While You Dash!
Participants can raise funds for their favorite school, church, or non-profit in Scott County:
• Each 5K participant earns $5 toward the official approved organization of their choice in
Scott County
• Each 2.5K participant (ideal for older adults) earns $2.50 for their chosen officially
approved Scott County Organization.
Participation Requirement:
Organizations must register with a minimum of 10 participants. Eligible organizations
include:
• Churches
• School Districts
• Non-Profit Organizations
