Ridgeland, MS – The highly anticipated educational interview series C.O.O.L.™ Talks, produced by SR1’s C.O.O.L.™ Media Network, premiered Wednesday on YouTube.
“I’m so excited to share this with the world,” said Arin Inge, SR1 Videographer and Producer of the series. “So many of us at SR1 have worked for months—well, just over a year—to get this project to where it is, and finally being able to release it is a wonderful feeling.”
The first episode features Joan Trumpauer Mulholland, an author, speaker, and lifelong advocate for education and community engagement. In the interview, Mulholland reflects on her upbringing, her early involvement in student-led movements, and the values that guided her.
“In Sunday school, we always learned Bible verses every week. There were things like ‘Do unto others as you would have them do unto you,’ ‘love thy neighbor as thyself.’ I could tell that in the South, we weren’t doing that,” Mulholland said, explaining how these teachings inspired her commitment to helping others.
The episode weaves together personal stories with rarely seen archival footage, provided by the Mississippi Department of Archives & History, which captures historic moments of student activism and community change in Jackson, Mississippi.
The program is hosted by Morgan Authement, former educator at SR1, with special collaboration from the Joan Trumpauer Mulholland Foundation, led by Mulholland’s son, Loki Mulholland.
The series will follow a monthly release schedule, with the next episode tentatively set to premiere January 5th. Viewers can watch the full premiere episode now on SR1’s YouTube channel.
